Kirkby Stephen – A Celebration
Kirkby Stephen Flower Festival 27-29 August

Station BloomsKirkby Stephen Parish Church will be the centrepiece of a magnificent three day floral celebration in Kirkby Stephen, August Bank Holiday weekend 27 to 29 August including Bank Holiday Monday. The church will be decorated with themes from the area which make the Upper Eden area so special to residents and visitors. Refreshments will be available in the churchyard.
Kirkby Stephen has again been invited to represent Cumbria in Britain in Bloom with the Flower Festival adding to the towns floral delights staged to coincide with the Stainmore 150 celebrations at Kirkby Stephen East Heritage Centre.
There will be a preview evening on Friday 26 August with refreshments; tickets will be on sale later in the year. There will be special Sunday services including Songs of Praise on Sunday evening at 6.30 pm.
Several fund raising events are being planned, the first of which will be:

 

DAVID RYLAND’S FLOWER ARRANGING DEMONSTRATION

on Friday 8th April 7.00 for 7.30 pm
at Kirkby Stephen Sports and Social Club Function Room

Tickets on sale in shops around town at £6.50 to include refreshments

There will be a demonstration of both large and small floral arrangements. David will also be able to give useful gardening tips. Please come along and enjoy a social evening with good food and company. You will also be supporting two local community initiatives Kirkby Stephen in Bloom and Kirkby Stephen Flower Festival 2011.
